07 — Connectors & Sync
Accounting Integrations
Two-way sync with the accounting systems businesses already run on.
A connector service linking an internal finance platform to the accounting software customers already use. Vendors, customers, bills and invoices stay in step in both directions.
Most of the engineering here is in the unglamorous parts: partial payments, deduplication, retry behaviour, and deciding what wins when both sides changed.
What I built
- 01Two-way synchronisation of master data and transactions
- 02Partial payment handling and balance reconciliation across systems
- 03Event-driven publishing with ordering guarantees and replay safety
- 04Scheduled jobs for recurring sync, reminders and rate updates
- 05Configurable connector routing loaded from the database, not hard-coded
- 06Webhook ingress with authentication and idempotent processing
Outcomes
- —Multiple accounting platforms behind one internal interface
- —Sync failures made visible and individually replayable
- —Scheduled jobs consolidated instead of one per customer
